Tandoori Paneer Tikka - Street Style Cottage Cheese Recipe

Have you ever seen those paneer (cottage cheese) hanging, dripping with red juice ?
I am sure you might have not only seen it but ate it too. Yummy!!! Right?

Today I will show you how to cook Tandoori Paneer Tikka, so what are we waiting for, let's begin....





Ingredients & Steps:
  • Take 2 big size capsicum
  • 4 big size onions
  • 5 big size tomatoes
  • 750 g of paneer (cottage cheese)
Cut big dices of all the vegetables and paneer, they should look like big square pieces. Once your cutting is finished.
Take a bowl to prepare the marination or tandoori batter (the red color batter).

  • Take 1 kg curd
  • Add 2 tbsp kashmiri red chili powder
  • Add 1 tbsp green chili paste
  • Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Add 1 tbsp salt
  • Add 1 tbsp kitchen king masala
  • Add 1 tbsp garam masala
  • Add 1 tbsp chat masala
  • Add 1 tbsp dhania powder
  • Add 1 tbsp jeera powder
  • Add 1/2 tbsp black pepper powder
  • Add 1/2 lemon juice
  • Add 2 pinch of red food color
  • Add 150 g of mustard oil
Whisk and mix well, there should not be any lumps, it should be a thick smooth batter.
Now add the paneer and vegetables pieces in this batter.
Mix properly and slowly so that no paneer pieces break, all paneer pieces and vegetables should get coated evenly. Leave it to rest for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, take a tandoori stick and insert 1 piece of onion followed by paneer then tomato then again paneer then capsicum followed by another paneer piece and then onion. (Reduce paneer pieces as per stick size or your wish).
Put the tandoori stick inside the tandoor or over the grill. Cook it for 10 to 12 minutes, then take it out of the stick.

Put the cooked tandoori paneer tikka in a bowl.
  • Add 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Add 2 pinch of chaat masala
  • Add 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
Mix well and serve it hot with green mint sauce (green chutney) and some onions, carrots and beet roots (julienne cut).
