Nachos are basically fried corn tortilla chips or totopos which are then dipped into melted cheese, heated and dried in room temperature and is a native dish of Mexico. There is an extensive use of nachos in the Mexican cuisine and in Mexican recipe, however mostly nachos are served as a snack or an appetizer. It was created by a person named Ignacio El Nacho Anaya in the year 1943.
It was then and it is today that we get this nachos in packed forms and from then to now, lot of variations of this dish has been invented, many by Mexicans themselves and many others by people all around the world. Looking into the health factor and nutrition value now companies are coming up with baked nachos rather than fried nachos.
I recently made a healthy recipe with nachos and today I am going to share the same recipe with all my friends here. I call this recipe as Nachos Salad, it is real quick to make, and you do not need gas or oven for preparing this recipe. So what are you waiting for, Let's Begin...
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp garlic flavored mayonnaise
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 8 - 10 black olives
- 4 - 5 green olives
- 2 - 5 red paprika
- 1 tbsp pizza / pasta sauce
- 1 tbsp liquid cheese
- 50g parmesan cheese (grated)
- 100g nachos
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp mustard sauce (kasundi)
- 1 tomato
- 1 capsicum
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 green chilli (chopped)
- 3 tbsp fresh corn
Steps to make Nachos Salad:
Take a bowl full of hot water.
- Put corns in it
Close the lid and leave it for 2 to 5 minutes.
In another mixing bowl.
- Add chopped vegetables
- Add green chillies
- Add salt to taste
- Add black olives
- Add green olives
- Add red paprika
- Add pizza / pasta sauce
- Add mayonnaise
- Add chilli powder
- Add chaat masala
- Add oregano
- Add liquid cheese
- Add mustard sauce
- Add corns
Mix everything well.
- Crush 100g nachos in it
- Add olive oil
Stir once again and mix everything properly.
Take a serving plate.
- Put nachos chips (as the base)
Cover the nacho chips base with this mixture.
- Put grated parmesan cheese on top
Quick Mexican Style Nachos Salad is ready.
Garnish with parsley or fresh coriander.
Serves - 1 to 2 person.
