Has it ever been that you want to make a cake and you have all your ingredients ready but find out that your cake mold or baking tray is not there or you want to make a quick cake with no eggs, if that is the scenario you have had ever faced then I have a solution for you today.
I will share my MUG CAKE recipe today, a quickly made cake without eggs or yeast or baking powder and most importantly you do not need a baking tray or a cake mold to make this cake. We will use a mug or a regular cup to make this cake. So what are you waiting for.

Ingredients & Steps:
We will need 2 bowls as we have to make a solid mixture and a liquid mixture which we will mix together at the end before baking.
Preparing the Liquid Mixture:
- In 1 of the bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup chilled water
- Add 3 tbsp oil
- Add 1 tsp lemon juice
- Add 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- Add 1 tsp vanilla essence
Mix Properly so that the sugar gets completely dissolved.
Liquid mixture is ready, set it aside to be used later.Preparing the Solid Mixture:
- Take the 2nd bowl
- Put 1 pinch of salt
- Add 2 heaped tbsp cocoa powder
- Add 1/2 cup all purpose flour (maida)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Mix ingredients properly.
Solid Mixture is also ready.
Now mix both the mixture solid / dry and liquid mixture together.
Use a whisker to mix and make sure that there are no lumps forming in the batter.
Make the mixing quick, before the gluten can form else we will end up making a chocolate bread rather than a mug cake.
Take a coffee mug
Fill with just 1 or 2 spoon full of the chocolate mixture.
Put 100g or 200g of dark chocolate bar.
Pour the chocolate batter in your coffee mug to fill it.
Do not fill till the brim else cake will spill as the cake would rise and puff in size while baking. Keeping micro-oven in full power bake the mug cake for 90 seconds.
Take it out and check and if you see more baking is required then bake it again for another 50 seconds.
Garnish with chocolate syrup, a slice of strawberry or a cherry and some choco chips on top.
