Green Coconut Chutney - Recipe

Friends, after I posted the recipe of coconut chutney, lot of my followers emailed me to share recipes of other variety of chutneys. 
 
Today when many like to eat fusion foods, hence street food vendors, eateries and even restaurants are serving many food items with different kind of chutneys.

I am going to share another recipe of green coconut chutney, keep following my blog as I would be sharing more different kind of chutney recipes in the coming few days, starting today. Let's Begin........



Ingredients & Steps: 


Heat up a pan and cook in low flame.

  • Add 1 tbsp oil
  • Add 2 cups coconut (freshly grated)
  • Add 1 cup coriander leaf
  • Add 1/4 cup mint leaf

Stir and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, making sure the leafs do not get brown.
Once all the ingredients becomes little soft and tender.
Put them in a mixer grinder.

  • Add 1" ginger
  • Add 1 green chilli
  • Add 10 - 12 curry leaves
  • Add 2 tbsp channa dal
  • Add 1 small tamarind (Imli - optional)
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Add 4 tbsp water

Grind everything properly to get a thick paste.
Take the chutney out in a serving bowl.
To complete the chutney we need to temper (tarka) the chutney.

For Tempering, take a pan (tarka pan)

  • Add 2 tbsp oil
  • Add 2 tsp urad dal
  • Add 2 dry red chilli
  • Add 1 tsp chana dal
  • Add 2 tsp small mustard seeds
  • Add 7 - 10 curry leaves

Once the oil is hot and mustard seeds starts popping. Pour the ingredients on top of the chutney, stir once to mix.
