Chilli Paneer - Indian Chinese Cottage Cheese Recipe

Friends like I had promised, here is another Chinese recipe with Indian touch. Chilli Paneer or Chilli Cottage Cheese recipe.

Let us see how quickly can we make this tasty recipe, Let's Begin...



Ingredients & Steps:
 
Take a big bowl.
  • Add 2 tbsp maida
  • Add 3 tbsp corn starch
  • Add 1 pinch of salt
  • Add 1/4 cup of water

Make a paste.
Make sure the batter is not too thick neither too thin.

In another bowl
  • Add 250 grams paneer (cottage cheese - cubes)
  • Add 1 tbsp corn starch
Toss the paneer, to get it coated.
  • Add the paste we made
Mix slowly (paneer should not break)
Coat all paneer cubes evenly.


Heat up a pan with some oil.
Deep fry the coated Paneer
Remove once paneer are golden brown.
Keep it aside to be used later.


Heat up a pan or a wok (Chinese pan).
 
  • Add 1 tbsp oil
  • Add 2 tbsp dry red chilli (chopped)
  • Add 1 tbsp ginger (fine chopped)
  • Add 1 tbsp garlic (fine chopped)
  • Add 1 tbsp celery (fine chopped)
Cook for 2 minutes.
 
  • Add 1 medium size onion (cut in quarters)
  • Add 1 capsicum (medium size - cut in quarters)

Toss onions and capsicums for 1 minute.

  • Add 1 tbsp soy sauce
Mix it gently.

  • Add 1 tbsp green chilli sauce
  • Add 1 tbsp sweet and sour sauce
  • Add little water
  • Add 1 tbsp corn starch slurry (diluted with 1/4 cup water)
  • Add 1 tsp sugar

Once the mixture thickens little bit.

  • Add fried paneer
  • Add 1 tbsp spring onions (chopped)

Mix and cook for 3 minutes.

Chilli Paneer is ready.


Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and spring onions (chopped).
