Friends, here is another red chutney recipe, but this one is the special chutney which is used in making mysore dosa. If you have had mysore dosa, you will see the dosa inner side is coated red in color, even the mysore masala dosa comes with red masala.

Ingredients & Steps:
 
Take a mixer grinder. 
 
  • Add 1/2 cup chana dal (roasted - split bengal gram)
  • Add 3 dry red chilli
  • Add 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Add water (as required for consistency)
 
Grind and blend to get a smooth paste. This paste is used over the dosa batter and also mixed with the masala while cooking it, to give them the taste and red color. It is also served along with mysore dosa as a chutney, one chutney so many uses. Try it.
