Thepla can be had with any vegetables as side dishes. Try it out, am sure you will enjoy it. Let's Begin...
Ingredients & Steps:
In the first mixing bowl.- Take 1 cup chopped fenugreek leaf (methi)
- Put 1 tsp salt
Wash it in running water.
Keep it aside.
- Put 2 cup atta (whole wheat flour)
- Add washed fenugreek leafs (methi)
- Add 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- Add salt to taste
- Add 2 tbsp oil
- Use water (if and as required for kneading)
Rub little oil over it.
- Leave it for 15 minutes to rest.
Flatten it to a thin disc (use rolling pin).
Put thepla and dry fry it.
- Add only 1 tsp to 2 tsp oil while frying
Thepla is ready to be served.
You can serve it with any vegetable side dish of your choice and as a anytime snack thepla is enjoyed with special Pickle made of chillies (Mirch ka Achar).
Bonus Recipe - Mirch ka Achar (Chilli Pickle)
In a mixing bowl.- Take 5 - 6 Vatwani red chilli (Gujarati chilli - Specialty of Rajkot and Surendra Nagar Area. (Slit))
- Add 5 - 6 fresh green chillies (slit)
- Add 1 tbsp yellow mustard seeds
- Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Add 1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
- Add salt to taste
- Add 1 lemon juice
- Add 1 tbsp peanut oil
Mix well and special Mirch ka Achar (chilli pickle is ready).
Enjoying Technique:
Put a slit slice of chilli pickle in the middle of the Thepla, roll it and eat it.
Can be had anytime, during lunch, dinner or even with Tea.
