Aloo or Potato is a very common staple food used to make variety of dishes, they are even combined with other vegetables and even non-vegetables to give a quick burst of yummy taste. Potato is very rich in starch and carbohydrate and were mostly preferred by farmers and laborers in India, as it gives lot of energy which helps farmers and laborers, as they do lot of hard and physical work.
Today we will see how to make Dahi Aloo or Yogurt Potato recipe. Friends without wasting more time, Let's Begin.........
Ingredients & Steps:
Take a Kadai (Deep frying pan)
- Add 2 tbsp desi ghee (clarified butter)
Once ghee is heated
- Add 1 tbsp jeera (cumin seeds)
- Add 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Add 2 tsp dry coriander powder
- Add 1 tsp amchur powder (dry mango powder)
- Add salt to taste
Roast all the spices for 2 -3 minutes.
- Add 4 - 5 potatoes (medium sized, boiled, peeled and cut)
Mix Well so that potatoes gets coated with spices.
Cook for 5 - 7 minutes, stir in between so that potatoes do not stick as we have not used water while cooking.
- Add 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- Add 1 tsp garam masala
- Add 2 tbsp curd (heaped spoon full - dahi)
Mix and Cook for 5 - 7 minutes.
- Add coriander leafs (fresh, chopped)
- Add 3 - 4 green chillies (chopped)
Mix well, one again.
Take it out on a serving bowl.
Dahi Aloo or Yogurt Potato is ready.
