Maggi Appe - Recipe

Hi Friends, am sure you all have tried my APPE recipe at your home. If you like it then here is a new recipe of appe with a twist. If you are following my blog for a long time, then you know that I keep coming up with new variety of Maggi recipes. So, here I have a new recipe made using Maggi noodles and is called Maggi appe. For everyone who loves quick, fast, easy and tasty cooking. Let's Begin........


Ingredients and Steps: 

Heat up a pan.

  • Add 1 tsp oil
  • Add 1 tsp cumin seed (jeera)

Roast the cumin seed for 1 - 2 minutes.

  • Add 1/2 cup water
  • Add 1 tsp maggi masala

Mix well.

When water starts boiling.

  • Add 2 Maggi (Small pouch, crushed)

Mix well, close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.

  • Add 1 potato (big size, boiled and mashed)
  • Add 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Add 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Add 1/2 tsp salt
  • Add 1/2 tsp coriander powder (dhania)
  • Add 2 green chillies (chopped)

Mix well and cook for 2 more minutes.

  • Add 1 tbsp coriander leaves (fine chopped)
  • Add 1 onion (big size - fine chopped)

Turn off the flames and mix everything together properly.
Take them out in a bowl and let them cook down.
Once cooled, make golf ball size balls and keep them aside.

Take a mixing bowl.

  • Add 2 tbsp refined flour (maida)
  • Add 1 tbsp rice flour
  • Add 1/4 tsp salt
  • Add water (as required)

Mix to form a batter which is neither too thick nor too thin or runny.
Heat up an appe maker pan.
Grease each holes with oil.

Dip the Maggi Balls in the batter and place them on each hole of appe maker.
Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes. 
Brush some oil and turn the balls with a help of a stick or spoon and cook the other side in the same manner.

Maggi Appe is ready.

Serve it with coconut chutney, green coriander chutney and sweet tamarind chutney or just with some tomato ketchup.
