Buns and Breads - Recipe

There are so many recipes which requires breads and buns to go along with those dishes. Be it pav bhaji or vada pav or soups or hotdogs or burgers and sandwiches. For all this dishes we need to rush to the market and buy those breads from the bakery, how about if I tell you that today I will share my special recipe with which you can make breads or buns right in your home? 

So without wasting much time. Let's Begin.........


 
Ingredients & Steps:


  • Take a bowl.
  • Add 1/2 cup warm water
  • Add 3 tsp sugar

Stir properly so that sugar dissolves properly and water also becomes luke warm.
 
  • Add 1 tsp instant yeast
 
Let it set for proving.Once you see the yeast floating on top of water.

  • Add 200 g of maida (refined flour)
  • Add 2 tbsp milk powder
  • Add 1 tsp salt

Mix well and form a soft dough.

  • Add 1 tbsp butter
  • Add water (as required)

Knead for 15 minutes to form a sticky but soft dough. Do not use any dry maida while kneading.
Once the sticky stretchy dough is ready, and stops sticking to your hands.

  • Take a bowl
  • Grease it with 1 tbsp oil
  • Put dough in the bowl (greased with oil)
  • Cover with a damp cloth

Keep it in room temperature for 30 minutes, covered, for proving. 
After 30 minutes, take out the dough, knead it to bring smoothness in it.
Take out equal portions (4 - 6 pieces)
(TIP: Dough is 345 grams and each piece will be 57 grams)

Make smooth balls from each dough piece. Sprinkle little dry maida (as required) while making smooth balls.

  1. Take a baking tray.
  2. Place a parchment paper in the bottom. 
  3. Flatten the dough balls to approximately 6 - 7 cm. (If you want hot dog buns you can make that size / shape also, in this step).
  4. Place the flatten dough balls on the parchment paper, side by side, in little distance.
  5. Cover with a cloth and leave it for 1 hour minimum.
  6. After an hour you will see the buns have risen.
  7. Brush little milk on top of each bun.

Bake it in a pre-heated oven at 180℃ with bottom rods only ON, for 12 - 14 minutes. Make sure you turn the tray once after 10 minutes.
Take out the baked buns, brush butter on the top portion.
Cover it with a damp cloth and let it cool down.
