How to make Soya Malai Chaap Tikka - Street Food Style Tikka Recipe

Soya chaap is made of soya beans and maida (all purpose flour), it is readily available in the market, or can even be made in home and is a super delicacy to eat. Variety to of dishes are made with soya chaap and it is a replacement of chicken, for vegetarians.

Today we will see how to make soya malai chaap - street style. Let's begin....
  • Take 2 kg soya chaap. take them out of the can, they are generally molded in ice-cream sticks.
  • Take out the soya chaap from the sticks and cut them into even pieces.
  • Now we need to marinate the soya chaap.

For marination
  • Add 2 tbsp green chilly paste
    soya chaap out of tin box
  • Add 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Add 1 tbsp black salt
  • Add 1 tbsp white pepper
  • Add 1 tbsp salt
  • Add 100 grms Vinegar (Sirka)
  • Mix it well with soya chaap (take help of your hands and fingers, make sure not to break any soya chaap)
  • Now we need to prepare the masala

For preparing masala
  • Take 1 kg curd in a bowl (do not stain the curd, let it contain water)
  • Make a paste of 100 grms cashew (kaju) and 100 grms milk

  • Add this paste in the bowl full of 1 kg curd
  • Add 100 grms processed cheese (shredded)
  • Add 100 grms fresh cream
  • Add 1 tbsp chaat masala
  • Add 1 tbsp elaici (cardamon) powder
  • Add 1 tbsp sugar
  • Add 100 grms refine oil
  • Add 1/2 tbsp black pepper (gol mirch)
  • Whisk properly and mix well
  • Now dip the marinated soya chaap in this masala mix that we have prepared

Time to cook
  • You can use a tandoor, grill, oven, grill pan to cook the soya malai chaap
  • We will use a grill pan today
  • Grease the grill pan with butter or oil
  • Take out few pieces of soya chaap dipped in the masala and put them in the grill pan
  • Roast them for 8 to 10 minutes or until you see the soya chaap turning brownish and getting black marks
  • Take the roasted soya chaap in a bowl
  • Add 2 tsp of fresh cream
  • Add 2 tsp mayonnaise
  • Add 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Add 1/2 tsp green chilly paste (chutney)
  • Add 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • Add 1 pinch of chaat masala
  • Mix it well with the help of a spoon

Your Soya Malai Chaap is ready to be served.

Please note: We have prepared this recipe with 2 kg soya chaap, if you want to prepare with less amount of soya chaap then use all other ingredients in proportion to the amount of soya chaap you are preparing. The mayonnaise used is home made.
